Mind Over Metal is a reality television show based on Tony Swatton, a living legend in the blacksmithing world. When we began developing this show, we had no idea how deep this project would go. Jones TV would make it happen.

From the minute we stepped into his front showroom, located in Burbank, California, we began building a show that needed to be taken onto the air. The Sword and The Stone is a small shop that will take you into history. His collection of armor, weapons, and metal clothing articles are staggering.

Of course, we were drawn to the movie memorabilia that he has made. That was a given, yet looking at the incredible craftsmanship on his private commissions were mind-blowing. How can metal be shaped that beautifully, yet show no signs of being hammered? The craftsmanship is not only for the “big studios”. He makes every piece with the same attention to detail and high level of quality.

We needed some time to decompress after the initial visit and create the show concept. Tony’s not the guy to throw things at people and scream. He’s the guy that can build anything he can imagine, yet entertain from a bizarre lifestyle that, unlike so many out there on television, is completely real. Real man. Real tools. Real metal. It’s just Mind Over Metal.
